He’s lucky he’s in another state

Today I am thoroughly exasperated with A. He did one bad thing and possibly one even worst thing that will make the bad thing not matter. One thing will take a month to resolve itself, the other possibly longer. Both are job related in an administrative kind of way ( they aren’t flight safety issues, nor are the fire worthy offenses. Just headaches).

And the worst part is- next time I see him, he’ll just give me this puppy dog look and say “well, it was an accident, I didn’t know” and of course I will melt and forgive his errors. Knowing my own weakness makes me even more exasperated with him.

Let me guess — a bidding error on a month’s schedule and another bidding error either on base/equipment openings or vacation… Am I warm? Hang in there.

Thank goodness they’re resolvable, I guess. Probably like NOT getting someone listed on your health insurance and then having to wait another 6 months for open enrollment to get someone insured….not that we know about that. Hopefully the mistakes aren’t expensive ones!

I’m not sure why it’s a big deal… Will it affect your kid’s insurance, or something? (I only say this because you clarified that it was an administrative, non-firable “offense,” which sounds like HIS issue to deal with. Hell - let HIM worry about it. ;) )

If he’s not worried about it, it may not be that bad!

(Or did he, as the first person suggested, bid in such a way that will keep him away from home more than he usually is? If that’s the case, bummer!)

First, he bid a crap schedule, not realizing what type of line it really was. Then, he got word that he had not made the 100 hrs in 120 days regulation and would need to go back to IAH to repeat his training (Sim sessions, type rating ride, all that jazz). But we lucked out that his math and recordkeeping was more accurate than someone elses and he made it by 0.2 of an hour. It was just a little overwhelming to find out about both issues in the span of an hour, but we’re over it now :)
